Deems was OK, its just that he doesn't stand comparison to Big Sid - but
then who does. The real weak link in the Armstrong percussion chair was
Danny Barcelona. Deems played with attitude but imho lacked a bit of taste -
Barcelona just coasted. Pity, Louis deserved better. I have a video clip on
an old Timex show of Louis playing with Krupa - as well as of course the
famous Glenn Miller Story clip of Basin St. Now that does cook. Good to see
you back on DJML Charlie.
