Steve you really are digging yourself into a hole on this one. Would you

care to name a trumpet player who could fool Jim, Butch or myself? I can

name plenty of hot players - but none come near to Louis.

Hi John:

You know I love you dearly, but did you read what you quoted me as
saying above. (which BTW is correct).

Seems to me I said fool 95% of the people. Now, you bring up Jim, Butch
or yourself. That ain't 95% of the people is it, so what hole am I
digging? My post speaks for itself.

By the same token, if Louis could not identify Wild Bill Davison or
Sidney Bechet in a blindfold test in 1949, don't be so sure you could
tell the difference between Arturo Sandoval, if I could persuade him to
copy Louis, and Louis himself. In case you didn't read that post either,
he confused Wild Bill with Dominique and/or Wingy Manone. And he
thought Sidney might be Ed Hall or Johnny Dodds. And then he thought
Freddie Moore might be Baby Dodds.
