Pete Fountain's Madri Gras band is known as the "Half-fast Marching Society". Rebecca I'm reminded of the time South Frisco Jazz Band was in Monterey, and Vince Saunders made the comment, "On our new CD we play mostly blues, some of which are fast, and some of which are half-fast...."
