[Dixielandjazz] Great Gigs - Redux

Every year Barbone Street performs a July 3 Concert at Rose Tree Park in
Media Pa. Natural Amphitheater, band shell, audience runs from 500 to
1000 depending upon weather forecast. Not specifically "jazz" fans, but
just regular people who like music.

Rose Tree produces 35 concerts over the summer, from the "Navy
Commodores" and "Airmen of Note" to Big Swing Bands, Jazz Bands,
Singers, Zydeco, Ballet, etc.

Got this e mail today, July 4, at 7:45 AM just as I was leaving for a
July 4th Concert in Philadelphia.

We get a lot of these types of comments, from non-jazz fan audiences.
This is that huge untapped audience that exists out there for Dixieland,
OKOM or "Evolutionary Dixieland" as we call it.

I think it explains our niche and our presentation pretty well.

Cheers,
Steve Barbone

"Dear Barbone Street Jazz Band"

"We go to Rosetree Park for almost every concert and thought your band
was the best act we have ever seen there! After listening to a couple of
the brass solos, my son (the redheaded 10 year old) commented "this is
very sexy music". I hope to bring "My Husband the Music Snob Who Sits At
Home Listening to Jazz CDs" to one of your gigs."

"Thanks for a great time last night!"
