I am glad the newcomers to DJML dedicate part of his home page to one of
the best Latin jazzman , for many unknown: Oscar Aleman , a truly genius but
too bohemian like ``mono`` Villegas. Their left lucrative jobs to return to
our homeland and died in the ostracism

OSCAR ALEMAN:
OSCAR (MARCELO) ALEMÁN, the most "swingingest of guitarists" of the 20th
century. This Argentinean guitarist, dancer, vocalist, bassist,
percussionist, entertainer and above all a great personality deserves a
place among the great swing guitarists. "He could out swing Reinhardt and is
a far superior , but swinging was not Alemán's only gift. He is thought to
be the first jazz guitarist to feature the right-hand finger method of
classical guitar rather than jazz's customary pick, and this technique
enabled him to play anything from the tangos and malambos of his native land
to exacting classical selections - all without being able to read a note of
music. He was also one of the rare jazz guitarists who was self-sufficient
as a concert soloist, since by using finger style, he could pluck bass
lines, harmony and melody simultaneously, as done on a piano.
