Hello all

The received opinion, that the pianist on the 16 July 1930 Los Angeles
recording of Blue Yodel no 9 is Lil Hardin-Armstrong, is probably wrong.

Why? Because it doesn't sound anything like Miss Lil. 

There is no evidence that Lil recorded with Louis after Savoy Blues
(Chicago, 13 December 1927).

Possible candidates for the pianist on the Blue Yodel date are L Z Cooper
or Harvey Brooks - the pianists in the New Sebastian Cotton Club Orchestra,
which Louis was fronting in July 1930.
