Amen. Did a gig with Eldridge at a theater/concert hall in Southampton,
Long Island in the fifties and then a follow up at a large mansion
rented for the summer by a group of would be Gatsby's. Party had
beaucoup women in attendance. Scene right out of F. Scott Fitzgerald.

Roy Eldridge was observed leaving the house at every break with a
different woman on his arm, only to return 15 minutes later looking a
little rumpled. Of course, since I was young and single at the time, I
must admit also to the back and forth from mansion to a buddies' car on
each break.

It was a rare night.
