Yes - agreed. The Swift Jewel Cowboys recorded Frankie "Half Pint" Jaxon's
"Fan It" back in the 1930's and that is a good jazz/blues piece.

Smokey Wood was a jive-talking hillbilly and his Wood Chips did a jazzy
enough tune called "Wood Chips Blues".

Also - The Sons of the Ozarks recorded a very jazz-sounding acoustic tune
called Plantation Blues in 1937. Superb tune and one of my favourite guitar
recordings.
