Western Swing also produces fine Dixieland trumpet players. I can think of Red "Jazz" Gillum who played in Clancy Hayes' Frisco Jazz Band, Danny Alguire of the Firehouse 5+2 who graduated from Bob Wills and our own Gary Church who came from Merle Haggard. Fine jazz musicians all.

Yes!
And there are some 'classics' too.
Try Ozie Stockard & the Wanderers (with Harry Palmer on trumpet) for a
start.
(Sept 1937. Even listed in Brian Rust's 'Jazz Records' discography.)
