Steve or anyone--
Are there any recordings of Miles actually playing dixieland?
I've got a record (made in Italy, and my Italian's a little rusty, so i can't read the liner notes) of Miles Davis and His Tuba Band, recorded (as i recall) in 1948, with Bill Barber on tuba (who apparently used to transcribe Lester Young solos so he could play them). That of course wasn't OKOM, but at least it had a tuba in it. Are there any earlier recordings (like with Scobey) of Miles in such a band?

    Dan
