Dear Jim,
Zep Meissner was discussed at length about Dec 2000.
I do not seem to have kept the posts.
Perhaps they are in the DJML 'archive'.
If we still have one.
The late Mr Meissner played clt/sax and was (during the 1940s) with Charlie
Barnet, Bob Crosby, Pee Wee Hunt and Spike Jones. (Don Ingle has fond memories
of him from this group.)
He led his own band and was an arranger for Lawrence Welk.
The DJML discussion (as I recall) covered the band recordings for MGM (English
Parlophone), his stock 'dixieland' arrangements (including availability) and his
shop in Burbank CA.
The shop had/has a web site.
Pull up Google and type in: Zep Meissner.
There is a lot of stuff there.
Kind regards,
Bill.
