Jim Beebe and George Thurmond mentioned Spargo's excellent faciloity on
the Kazoo. Yes indeed, when he was at Nick's in Greenwich Village NYC,
with Phil Napoleon and other groups he played Kazoo several time a
night. This was in the 1950s, and he always got a great reception from
the audience. Some because they could relate to the Kazoo, and some
because they knew he was with the ODJB in those early years. Once, when
Charlie Trager was playing bass in the band with him, the whole band
whipped out Kazoos and accompanied Spargo much to the delight of the
audience.
