I agree the Marines Corp had (still has) a great band, but being (a very =
old) Navy Musician (WW11), I thought we had a pretty damn good Navy =
Band. Their music school was second to none. That's where I learned to =
play "Dixieland" or "Trad" .
I have always envied you of your ability on both cornet (trumpet) and =
valve bone. I tried the bone and had to play both in the navy, but after =
playing bone it took a while before I could play the trumpet.
I beleive it was you who tried my new King cornet, about the time you =
were leaving Colorao. It was with the Queen City Band at the Monvue =
Village in Denver.
