Hi all:
My messages are printed twice, too, even though I submit them just once to
the DJML and there are no copies going anywhere else. Very frustrating.
For those of you who don't know already (I posted the news on the Mississippi
Rag's bulletin board at www.mississippirag.com and perhaps it's also been on
a DJML posting I may have missed), Ray Fehring of Napa, Calif. has died at 92
of cancer. He was a terrific guy and an avid, active jazz fan. His wife,
Rose, also a dear person, survives him and is currently living in a 6-person
group home due to a diagnosis of Alzheimer's Disease. The Fehrings, who have
friends everywhere in the world, have a close family of very nice people who
would doubtless appreciate a note from those who knew and loved Ray. They
sent a note to me using Ray's e-mail address book through his AOL account
(RAFEHRING@aol.com) and can be reached that way.
