Can we please stop these acrimonious exchanges now - political threads
always end in tears, anger and bitterness and nobody is ever persuaded to a
different point of view. The current crop of posts is threatening to become
quite nasty, enough already.

In British pubs there is an unwritten rule that discussion of religion or
politics on the premises is out of bounds, it is a wise policy.
