Well, there you go. Larry's definition is more what I think riffing is.
Jerry's has a modern tweak to it and is more in line with how it's being
used today. In any event, it's nice to know that an OKUM word is still in
the mainstream of life. I think we would find that the word "jazz" also has
a lot of different meanings, depending upon the year it is used.
