During a busy point in his career around 1960, Enevoldsen played tenor with
Ray Anthony's big band, bass with Bobby Troupe's quartet, valve bone with
Terry Gibbs on the Steve Allen Show, wrote charts for & played valve trombone
with Shelly Manne, also for the Lighthouse allstars. He also gave music
lessons in his garage studio at home. I just knew him as the man my mother
dropped me off to see for music lesons. I had no idea how talented he was. I
saw him again about two years ago & introduced myself; he was playing solo
bone with the Bill Holman big band (at maybe age 80). When I mentioned all
this to him, he pointed out he also played flute and some other string
instrument (I think viola). He also asked me about my mom. What a guy!
