The Monterey Hot Jazz Society will meet for it's monthly dance party, 
Sunday, February 9th, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. 

The January guest band, the High Energy "CatsnJammers" Jazz Band. The 
"CatsnJammers" Jazz Band was formed in 1980 by Gene Berthelsen and is 
active in the Sacramento area and in a number of West Coast festivals. The 
band's name is a quadruple pun. It's derived from the old Katzenjammer 
Kids comic strip and alludes to jazz slang, i.e., cats jamming. It's also 
German for the sound of a cat fight and a slang term for a hangover. The 
band plays lots of traditional tunes of the New Orleans and San Francisco 
type. February 9th is guaranteed to be another fun filled afternoon.

The Monterey Hot Jazz Society meets for jazz and Dancing at the Monterey 
Moose Lodge in Del Rey Oaks on the second Sunday of the month. Cost is 
$5 for Members and $7 Non-Members. 

To get to the Monterey Moose from Salinas or Monterey take Highway 68, 
turn onto Canyon Del Ray Blvd. Proceed for approx a half mile and turn 
left on Del Rey Gardens Drive (the first street). After left turn make an 
immediate right turn on to the drive leading to the parking area of the 
Moose Lodge. 

>From the North or Monterey on Highway 1, take the Canyon Del Rey Off-ramp 
and proceed on same for approx 2.5 miles. Watch for the Moose Lodge 
building (US Flag stands out) on your right. Turn right on Del Rey 
Gardens Drive (the first street) then again make an immediate right turn 
on to the drive leading to the parking area of the Moose Lodge.
