[Dixielandjazz] Short Dress Gal

Many thanks to everyone who helped with the last line
of Short Dress Gal. In the unlikely event that any
subscriber to this list is unfamiliar with the Sam
Morgan Band’s two sessions for Columbia from 1927,
they are available on CD, both on Azure and on Jazz
Oracle, and are essential listening. On both CDs they
are coupled with the recordings made at that time by
Oscar Celestin’s Original Tuxedo Jazz Orchestra. I
would say that the Jazz Oracle is the one to get if
only because it includes an alternative take of
Celestin’s “Station Calls”.
