[Dixielandjazz] Declining Festival Attendance -

Reminds me of a local gripe of mine about the "official" answer to why the first and only Salinas, CA, "trad jazz" festival of October 1994 was a "failure."  Specifically, the reason always given is that it "didn't make enough money."  But no one, with the seeming exception of yours truly, cares to recall that the first and only Salinas "trad jazz" festival was held the exact same weekend as the California Airshow (Blue Angels, zoom, roar, etc).  The event didn't make any money because it was scheduled the same weekend as the single largest crowd draw Monterey County can boast!,
