There seems to be some question about when Alan Greenspan may or may not have played with Woody Herman. If he played with him around  the same time as Leonard Garment, his sax partner in the Henry Jerome band, this would most probably not have been "in 1946 or later" but in 1944, when Garment played with Herman before joining the army, as he points out in his autobiography, "Crazy Rhythm" which, incidentally, has some good  jazz comments.Cheers.
