I asked a week ago:
Can somebody give me more information about Josephine Bradley and her
Ballroom orchestra? A scan of a picture from her orchestra would be fine
too?

A suggestion that the image (with JB on the music-stand and with Oscar
Aleman in the band on the guitar ) on
http://members.lycos.nl/keepswinging/Oscar%20Aleman%20Scrapbook20s.html
should belong to Josephine Bradley and her Ballroom Orchestra is definite=
ly
unlikely.

I still suggest that it is part of the 1933 - 1934 Josephine Baker band.
Who can identify the members? Where is this JosephineBakerologist?

Isn't it crazy? Last week I turned over some leaves in the major biograph=
ies
of Josephine Baker and in one (of the four I found in the library) Oscar
Aleman was listed as "He was probably the most gifted musician Josephine
Baker worked with during her career" (or something similar) and that's al=
l
about her cooperation with this famous Argentinean guitar player, Duke
Ellington couldn't get in his band.

On my turntable now: Oscar Peterson
