Hey Folks"

I have toured there many times and,

I don't remember when Ross said she was going to Paris, but if she is going
in August chances are she will not find any live music in nightclubs, unlike
the USA most Europeans go on vacation in July and August and most of the clubs
shut down all together or have no music. She will also find the drink prices
to be outrageous, $16.00 to $20.00 for a shot of Jack Daniels for example,
However there are some decent cognacs available rather economically if you shop
around, and some very good cheap French wines in the $3.00 range for everyday
drinking.

However there are many Jazz Festivals, mostly outdoors all over France,
better to check them out. There are two clubs downtown in the tourist district
that probably will have live music, however it will most likely not be OKOM.

Chesterfield's has music nightly, but will be Jazz, Blues, Rock and Gospel on
Sunday afternoon. Excellent food and beverages.

Check the Lionel Hampton Room in the evening at the Meridian Hotel for Jazz.
No cover charge and the entertainment is usually top notch, however the price
of the first drink is often $80.00 or $40.00 even for a coca cola or water,
but they are kind enough to only charge you half for the second round.

The New Morning Club also has an eclectic array of shows with a cover charge,
Jazz, Blues, Gospel, pop, world music etc.

The best bet is to check JAZZ Festivals for France on the Internet and it
will give you a listing of what is happening and where.

Most of the French and Germans head south for the summer to the coasts of
Italy and Mallorca, Spain, where there is always something going on although not
necessarily OKOM.

Cheers,

Tom Wiggins
