Don Taylor a jazz enthusiast who kindled his interest in a certain tin hut
next to the White Hart pub at Cranford on the banks of the river Crane and
is a well established playwright has a play being performed on Radio 4 FM
on Thursday, 7 August at 2.15 pm. The blurb in the Radio Times says:
Afternoon Play: Flee as a Bird to the Mountain.
by Don Taylor. With Jack Shepherd, Philip Jackson and Trevor Cooper. A
group
of male friends in their 60s revive the schoolboy New Orleans Jazz
Band that
expressed their purist youthful idealism. Youth and its high ideals
have a brief
musical re-flowering until tragedy strikes. Has their time finally
passed?
Music by Bob Dwyers Hot Six.
