Ruby DID record "Nobody knows you when you're down and out" as the first
part of a medley (2nd title being "Buddy Bolden's blues") with the Alex
Welsh Band on 8th November 1967. This was issued on a Black Lion LP called
"Hear me talkin'!", later available on cd Black Lion BLCD760161.
You should have know Bill!!
