Knocky Parker told me about the time in the early 1940s when he went into
Harlem & met with Scott Joplin's widow. She was quite elderly & sitting up
in bed. She had a trunk full of Joplin's original works. Knocky bought a
couple rags for like a quarter or buck a piece.

In the trunk he saw an original manuscript of "Guest Of Honor." He said
later that he could have kicked himself for not purchasing more, including
that manuscript.

Since then that manuscript has disappeared & has never been found.
