I'll say it because it has to be said: The reason we all say "Dixieland" is
because we have to use *some* name and Tex Wyndham told us that it has the
best recognition among uninformed listeners.

But while "Everybody" knows what dixieland music is, we endlessly debate
what's trad or classic or jazz. We've thrown up our hands and accepted
"OKOM" (Our Kind Of Music for those who've been here less than a week) as a
sort of neutral, non-defining placeholder.

I'm a little slow on the uptake sometimes, but I've just realized that you
folks *like* arguing about terminology. So once you've come to a consensus,
tell me what name you've settled on and I'll use it.
