Dixieland (a) Dixie; (b) a kind of jazz characterized by a
rhythm strongly accenting the second and fourth beats and 
by collective improvisation. 

Sounds pretty similar to what has been said.

It also says :-

Dixie; A large iron kettle or pot in which stew, tea, etc.,
is made or carried by soldiers etc.
