It would never occur to me that a person handing out his or her cards
were trying to steal my job.

If you are doing your job, it won't be stolen.
If your not, they will find someone else anyway.  If you are honest &
they call from your card and it was booked by an agent - you will ask
them to please deal with your agent and give them the phone number. The
same is true in the movie business.

I give my card because my web site & e-mail address is on it.

I have other things to say, but you wouldn't like them - so, unusual for
me, I'll shut up now.
