A buddy of mine, a singer, is now becoming an agent whether he knows it =
or not.
He got a gig for me - solo - at a house party last week. The host wanted =
an hour
of "background" piano + an hour of sing-a-long + another hour of bg =
piano.
Jerry charged him $350 for 3 hours. He kept $100. I printed out song =
sheets (lyrics)
of tunes I thought would work. One sheet back and front about 25 song =
lyrics.
Bold type on top of both pages Jerry's Name and phone number. My name =
appeared nowhere!
I left 40 copies of the song sheets on a table near the entrance. 2nd =
hour I got requests.
Guess what? They requested the songs that I had on the page... lucky me.
Moral: I work for you, then I am working for you. When I'm in charge =
hand out my card, not yours.
This should be obvious to all but the dense.=20
