Regarding those scratches . . .

Ignore them, or maybe even enhance them a little so they really show up. If 
anyone askes you about them, simply say something like, "I know, I know . . 
. but you know how some women can get in the heat of passion! It's a good 
thing I don't have hickeys all over my body!"

Then don't say any more.

The main problem is that nobody will even take notice of the scratches at 
all. As a matter of fact, if they do they'll probably say "Hmmm . . . looks 
like old John has been working in the garden again."

Life is really unfair!
