All the early Commodore Records feature Bill and George. They're out there
in anthologies on disc and tape. Could be that some other jazz record co.
like Arbor has them.

Subject: [Dixielandjazz] Wild Bill and George Brunis recordings
Hello List mates,
After "striking out" by telephone, I'm looking to the DJML for suggestions:
My dad hasn't fully recovered from his stroke, so he has lots of time to
listen to his favorite music. He's specifically looking for CDs of Wild Bill
and George Brunis together. My mom and dad frequented Eddie Condon's during
the late-40s (and early-50s?) when Brunis and Bill were regulars.
Here's a funny (pitiful) story of how I "struck out" by phone:
My friend in Detroit suggested I call George Buck for recommendations, but
he gave me the fax number instead of the voice number. So, I call
"Information." The young lady asks me, "What City, please?" I say, "New
Orleans. Jazzology Records." [Long pause as she cannot find it.] "What
city did you say?" I tell her again, "New Orleans." [Brief pause of
embarrassment.] "And what state is that?" [?!#!? Gulp!] Speaking much
slower now, I say, "That would be Louisiana. Jazzology Records." [Long
pause.] "I'm not finding it. Is it a business?" Still in my slowest voice,
I say, "Yes, ma'am. Jazzology Records." [Pause.] "I'm still not finding it.
Is it spelled J-a-z-o-l-o-g-y Records?" "Uh... no... it's Jazz: j-a-z-z."
"Oh yes, here it is!"
In order to spare you in the future, the number is: (504) 525-5000.
Thanks for any CD suggestions!
