Having recently been corrected, I believe I can answer this.  OKOM is a 
distortion of OCCAM, which is short for OCCAM's razor.  This is a scientific 
and philosophic rule that entities should not be multiplied unnecessarily. 
This, I believe, is also why some coronet players hate Twelfth Street rag.
