Hello, listmates,

The heavens' gain is our loss on the passing of Abe Most.

He was one of my instructors at Sacramento Jazz Camp in August. One night, he passed by
a few of us who were standing under the trees playing a few tunes before bedtime. He said he
was too tired to join us -- we had all been up at least 16 hours by then -- but he only took a few
steps away from us, and less than two minutes later he had the clarinet out of the case and
was playing with us. He just couldn't stand to not play.

His love of music knew no bounds, and he realized the importance of sharing the wealth of his
knowledge with those of us fortunate enough to be in his presence.

While I mourn his passing, I am glad he has graduated to a place where he will never have to
put the horn away again.

Keep jazzin' forever, Abe!

Love,
Meg and Big George
