[Dixielandjazz] Playing too long

I saw Speigel a couple of months before he passed away.  I chatted with
him and listened to him play.  He did a great job.

I had the PLEasure of hearing Kid Ory & (I believe it was) Mutt Carey at
the Beverly Caverns in L.A. around 1959.  How old would they have been
then?  Alright, they played the first chorus in the correct range, then
dropped to a lower register for the next one sometimes.  And, they only
played about 4 songs in a set.  However, had they NOT played...just been
introduced, I wouldn't now be able to say I heard them live! =20

Nope, I believe if the body holds up, and one still has the ideas & the
spirit (talent & fun), then...play on.
