I heard last night that Hildagarde (singer, entertainer) was a leader of the French resistance in WWII, and eventually captured and tortured. Her trademark long gloves were actually covering scars. Fascinating story, if true. Can anyone testify? (I couldn't find anything on the inet...) dc
