   Lincoln was a very complex genius.  One could easily make a life long 
study of him.  I wonder if the Ken Burns Civil War series was ever shown in 
the UK.  I would think so as many UKers would have relatives in the Civil 
War.  This series was just reshown in the U.S. and there is a great deal of 
fascinating stuff about Lincoln throughout.
