Mike Meddings warned:<<<<If you have the John R. T. Davies opus, either the
Swaggie or
Classic Jazz Masters LPs, or the Riverside LPs (all now long out of
print) + the 4 Rounder CDs, then you are missing only part of the
December 1938 spoken recordings of the LoC, which to this day remain
unissued.>>>>

Mike, I have the twelve 12" CIRCLE LPs.

How do it compare to those you mentioned?

Hello Tito,

The Circle LPs were the first to be issued in 1950 (the content a mere copy
of the Circle 78s, which needed to be played at about 85 r.p.m.).

Then the Riverside, with a few plops erased in some places, but not much of
an improvement (the work of the Reeves Sound Studios in 1957). Then John
R. T. Davies cleaned and re-pitched the whole lot in 1970, starting from
the issued Circle 78s for CJM and Swaggie.

Mike.

Musically yours

Mike
