Liz and I met two German musicians a couple of weeks ago. They had come
to the U.S. for the Sacramento Festival and then had made their way to
Florida as one of them owns a condo here in Venice--his name is Peter Buehr
( Tenor, clarinet, curved soprano, and flute) and he is the leader of a band
called the Flat Foot Stompers. The other guy's name is Klaus Bader. He is
one of the richest men in Germany with 3000 employees, which has not
prevented him from being a fine player, (Also all the reeds and sings well)
Our contact with him was only for the one time as he headed home the next
day.
Liz and I have sat in with Peter in Venice the last two Mondays. He has
played on these Mondays with his friend Jack Fanning (Vibes) He is headed
back home in a couple of days but is returning sometime in January. I would
appreciate comments by anyone who knows these musicians. Very good players
and also great people. chuck k
