I had one of those special moments years ago I'd like to share with DJMLers.
Maybe, someone else would pick up on this thread. I was working for Y&R at
the time and we were shooting a commercial in LA with the legendary George
Burns. The setting was an old time dance studio with a good, old fashioned
upright piano. The actor playing the part of a piano player happened to be
one of the original Our Gang Comedy black actors who never did much after
that series. During the break, I couldn't resist the old piano and sat down
to play the Ol Piano Roll Blues. The black actor came on the set and started
a soft shoe. Pretty soon everyone gathered around as we got into it, and
George himself came out and sat down to listen. Afterwards he said to me,
"Kid, you're pretty good." I've taken that moment with me for the rest of my
life. Anyone else got one like that?
