After the valve moves again, or if it's not really seized, you may preven=
t a recurrence by doing a little polishing of both the valve and the bore=
with Softscrub. It's a pain to get this all out of the horn after (tho =
the horn may need a good cleaning anyhow), but some dirt and oil buildup =
might be your problem. I've recommended this as an emergency measure to =
French hornists who didn't have time to get to the shop -- the night befo=
re State competition ---- and gotten back good reports. I hasten to add =
that I was hustling repairs for a shop, and am not a qualified fixer.
