To all, There is actually quite a lot of jazz content in the film. The lp
from the soundtrack contains 7 Morton tunes played by Bob Green,7 ragtime
tunes by the N.O.Ragtime Orch.which is comprised of Bill Russell vln. Paul
Crawford tbn. Lars Edegran pno. Orange Kellin clt. John Robichaux dms.
Walter Payton bs. Lionel Ferbos tpt.
Kid Thomas' band with Thomas, Raymond Burke.clt. Emannuel Paul ts. Louis
Nelson tb. Jeanette Kimball pno.James Prevost bs. Louis Barbarin dms. Lars
Edegran pno. play 3 tunes. There is also a trio number with Louis Cottrell
clt. Bob Green pno.&Walter Payton bs and one further trio with Paul
Crawford.tbn W. Payton tuba and L Ferbos tpt.
The Thomas band is not blowing hot and this is cetainly not representative
of their music, but if you can find the lp on ABC Records 9022 1076 it is
worthwhile getting.
Cheers, Glen.
