Since I've lost Tito's email address, I'll take this opportunity to =

I received a package from our DJML mate in Brazil last Friday...in =
it was two rhythm instruments previously discussed on this =
list..remember "Caxixis"? Very clever little shakers that he has sent to =
Bill Gunter to add to his arsenal. As soon As Billy returns from his =
wanderings, they're his!=20
BUT!! Also in the package were four great CD's of his band! One of =
them, "Classical jazz Today" has wonderful tunes done in a way I've =
never heard, a mix of South American rhythms and New Orleans =
street/swamp beats...just great!! The other one is his quintet, "Jazz =
Fireworks", sixteen great tunes with a lot of "guest" artists...he sent =
one each to Bill and I.
The first tune on "Classical Jazz Today", is one I've never heard, =
called, "Blues For Today"...very nicely done!The second tune is called =
"Indian Sagua"...it's hard to describe!! Has a little middle eastern =
sound mixed with a great jazz beat...
I hope they can come to some festivals in the states...they would be =
a real hit! Very exciting!!
