[Dixielandjazz] LA Area Jazz Meet 6/16/02

This Sunday (6/16/02) Jazz Forum meets 1 to 5 PM at the Elks Lodge, 1040 Pico 
Blvd., Santa Monica, CA.  This is a BIG one - its the Jazz Forum's 25th 
anniversary!  And, to match, the feature band is a brand new one, and judging 
from its personnel, a great one.  It's the Jazz Chihuahuas, led by the 
wonderful drummer, Hal Smith;  with Bryan Shaw, trumpet;  John Smith, reeds;  
Vinnie Armstrong, piano;  Mike Fay, bass and both Katie Cavera and June 
Smith, guitars.  Isn't that a dream lineup?  Wow!. 
 Other sets are for sit-in musicians. Admission $8, members $6,  performing 
musicians free.  Nice dance floor at the side of the room, reasonable drink
