The wonderful reed man Rick Faye died a couple of years ago, and scores
of musicians from Church Street Station, Disney, Universal and
surrounding theme parks turned out in an Orlando, Florida, park to say
goodbye.

One of the bands was the Perserverance Marching Band that included
trumpeter Bill Barnes, one of those heavyweights. The band halted,
drummer Ed Metz Jr. sounded a low roll and Barnes played Taps as I've
never heard it before. I'm going to risk the list's collective ire by
attaching it as a very small midi file that will play with Windows Media
Player.

If Rick had been alive to hear this, he'd have loved it. It sure
dissipated the tears that usually flow when this haunting song is
played.

Kindly

Will CXonnelly
