Hello all,

The Jelly Roll Morton website has been updated with the following articles
:

The Indianapolis Freeman, dated Saturday, 31st August 1912.

NOTES FROM GREAT LA VITA SHOW CO. The great demand for the medicines of
the La Vita Medical Company . . . . Mention of J. C. Spikes, cornet; and B.
F. Spikes, alto; . . .

A great piece of American social history.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

The Indianapolis Freeman, dated Saturday, 10th June 1916.

"Jelly Roll," just arrived in town from St. Louis, Mo. Working at the
Fairfax hotel [Detroit]. He is the town talk, because he wrote the
"Jelly Roll Blues."

The 2 articles above are from Alan Wallace and can be found in the "On the
Road, 1905 - 1917" section on the main Morton page :
http://www.doctorjazz.freeserve.co.uk/page10.html Just look out for the
RED revolving icons.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Next, a superb "portrait" of Alfred Wilson from Peter Hanley. This
well-researched article can be accessed from the UPDATES BOX at :
http://www.doctorjazz.freeserve.co.uk/index.html Hope you enjoy.

Seasons greetings and Best wishes.

Musically yours
