Mike, I only saw the "real Dukes" once...in a Las Vegas lounge, 1963.  I
had been playing Dixieland since 1955, but of course was not on the
level of your Uncles.   I was particularly taken by the professionalism
of their gig, which was basically to an empty house.  They played like
the place was jammed, and seemed to be enjoying themselves immensely.  A
lesson that has stayed with me throughout my career in music.

Their Audio Fidelity Lp's are still my favorites.
