Dan,
I may have a solution to your dilemma: Remembering the Martha Stewart
principle (five of anything makes a collection) and the common practice of
installing some nondescript three dimensional objects in front of civic
buildings, why not embed five of your favorite cast-off bass horns in a
block of concrete at the local post office or utilities payment drop? They
would make nearly Ideal receptacles, the sousaphone in particular, with its
built-in rain deflector.
NOTE TO THE OVERLY LITERAL-MINDED: I'm not really suggesting that Dan do
this; He'd probably be violating a law and might get arrested. Just like
performing CPR on a heart attack victim, you have to keep doing it until you
collapse in exhaustion or you'll be sued for malpractice. No really.
Paul Edgerton, who could plant a forest of saxophones and clarinets around
the tubas to heighten the effect.
