A good way to find a musician is to use the union. Sounds as if Reames was a
member of local 47 in L.A.. Write a letter to him care of DIRECTORY, Local
47 AF of M and add "please forward." If the person is still a member
and still alive, it will be sent on to the last address they have listed.
Local 47 is on Vine St. in Hollywood, CA (use your browser to get exact
address.)
This works with most larger locals. You can also use browser people finder
functions to some extent if you know the town or city they may live in.

Dear listmates: Is it possible that one of you musicians knows the
whereabouts of Stan Reames? He had a big band after WW2, married and
divorced Janet Leigh, and traveled with the band until the industry slowed
down.
In recent years he had a music production company, Do Re Mi Music, and did
work for the TV networks.
We joined the Navy together in 1942, and, after the war, I was a side man in
one of his early bands. Would like to contact him and swap "sea stories."
Any help would be very much appreciated.
