Barry Manilow did a cd of "simulated standards" wherein he performed
original tunes that were contrived to sound like great American standards.
The title song was "2 A.M at the Paradise Cafe".
Here's a blurb about it from Amazon:
"Barry's ground-breaking Platinum Jazz album with Gerry Mulligan, Mel Torme,
Sarah Vaughan and great original songs by Barry. Songs include Paradise
Cafe, Where Have You Gone, Say No More, Blue (with Sarah Vaughn), When
October Goes, What Am I Doin' Here and more."
I like it a lot.
Has anybody listened to Chicaga's "Night and Day" cd???
